Membership Process for Joining The La Jolla Sunrise Rotary Club
Joining La Jolla Sunrise Rotary Club is a rewarding opportunity to serve the community, build professional connections, and develop leadership skills. The process for becoming a member is as follows:
1. Attend Meetings as a Guest
Prospective members are encouraged to attend at least two club meetings as a guest to gain an understanding of Rotary’s mission, activities, and fellowship.
2. Sponsorship by a Current Member
A current member must propose the candidate for membership and agree to serve as their sponsor throughout the onboarding process.
3. Application Submission
The candidate completes a membership application and returns it to their sponsor.
4. Application Review by Leadership
The sponsor submits the completed application to the Club President and Membership Chair for review.
5. Board of Directors Consideration
The Membership Chair presents the candidate’s application to the Board of Directors (BOD) for discussion and approval.
6. Board Decision
The Board of Directors votes to approve or deny the candidate’s application. If approved, the candidate proceeds to the next step.
7. Assignment of a Mentor
Upon approval, the President, in consultation with the Membership Chair and Membership Committee, assigns a mentor to support the new member’s integration into the club.
8. Administrative Updates
The new member’s name and information are added to all club records and platforms, including ClubRunner. (Note: This responsibility is typically handled by the Club Secretary or Membership Chair—please confirm the designated officer in your club.)
9. Red Badge Program & Mentorship
The new member is introduced to the Red Badge Program, which provides structured mentorship and engagement activities to help them fully integrate into the club.
10. Graduation to Blue Badge
Upon successful completion of the Red Badge Program requirements, the new member graduates to full membership status and is awarded their Blue Badge.
